Household items fixed for free at King County’s Repair Cafés

King County brings “fixers” to Kirkland to repair locals’ broken appliances for free.

Locals can bring their small household items and clothing to a Repair Café and King County’s expert “fixers” will repair and mend them. There are two Repair Cafés in Kirkland this fall on Sept. 6 at Kingsgate Library, and on Oct. 21 at the Lake Washington Institute of Technology.

Eligible items include: Household items (lamps, small appliances); Small furniture (carried easily by one person); Electronics, Computers; Clothing (washed), zippers and more (just nothing leaking, dangerous, containing gasoline or with a strong odor).

Walk-ins are welcome, or sign up in advance to make sure your item can be repaired. To sign up, call Tom Watson at (206) 477-4481 or email Tom.Watson@KingCounty.gov. For more information, visit the EcoConsumer website.
