EvergreenHealth in Kirkland recently welcomed Dr. Xuanjing Zhou, internal medicine and cardiology specialist, to its Heart & Vascular Care team.
According to a press release, Zhou brings an array of clinical experience to her new position, providing comprehensive care for patients with complex heart conditions and vascular disease. She is trained in preventive and non-invasive cardiology, nuclear cardiology, adult echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and exercise cardiac stress testing.

To pursue a career in medicine, Zhou left her home in the Midwest to practice in a city with a more diverse population. She attended medical school at the New York Medical College, which offered the opportunity to treat a wide range of patients facing different health risks, according to the release. After earning her medical degree, Zhou completed her residency training at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, where she specialized in internal medicine.
Zhou brings enthusiasm to every patient exchange and practices a relationship-centered care approach, the release states. She believes her role as a cardiologist is to advocate for her patients, listening to their concerns and working with them to create an effective and unique treatment plan. Zhou encourages her patients to play an active role in their care, giving them the information they need to make their own health care decisions.
EvergreenHealth Heart & Vascular Care has been recognized by the U.S. government as one of country’s most successful programs for heart attack patients, the release states. It was one of 17 hospitals nationwide cited for outstanding heart attack survival rates — recognizing aspects from swift diagnosis and treatment, to the follow-up care needed to get patients on the road to recovery.
