As Friends of Youth begins its 2018 fiscal year, eight people have joined its board of directors.

They are:

Asa Irwin, major gifts officer at the College Success Foundation. The Seattle native has spent much of her career working on behalf of foster youth, supporting educational access for underrepresented youth, as well as conducting adolescent and family therapy.

David Beckerman, chief financial officer of Sher Partners, manages finance and accounting for dozens real estate holdings. He has an MBA from Northwestern University.

Jason Scovil, head of human resources at video game creator Bungie. The Kirkland resident formerly worked at Facebook and Microsoft.

Chris Wion, partner at Summit Law Group. Wion focuses on commercial litigation and has been recognized as among the “Top 100” Washington lawyers for the past two years.

Karla Easton, owner of Kid’s Club and Sole Food at University Village for the last 30 years. Easton is a former board member and longtime supporter of Friends of Youth.

Alex Lee, partner with Auxano Advisors in Bellevue. The Seattle native has a deep love of the community and a strong desire to help empower and equip those in need.

Angela Vogel, attorney with Davis Wright Tremaine. Her practice focuses on counseling clients in employment law and she has extensive experience litigating in state and federal court.

Pamela Rankin, a vice-president of casualty brokerage for CRC Insurance Services. Rankin has previously volunteered and worked part-time for several agencies that focus on youth.
