In July, Initiative 27 filed a law suit against a number of King County and a number of county agencies.

The complaint filed by I-27, an initiative that would ban heroin injection sites, was against the county, the Department of Public Health – Seattle and King County and King County Department of Community and Human Services and alleged that the agencies were violating Washington State law.

It outlines that King County Health violated a state law by using public resources to pay for and promote Facebook advertisements opposing citizen-led I-27.

The state attorney general has responded to the complaint by stating that the allegations are being sent to the Public Disclosure Commission for review. The PDC has the authority to take action against King County as needed.
