The Kirkland Arts Center has released its 2018 exhibition schedule.
The six major exhibitions include: “Re: Acclimating,” which will feature artwork from the Pacific Northwest; “Topophilia, 2018 UW Emerging Curator Initiative,” a multi-artist/multi-media exploration of the affective bond of environment, mental, emotional, and cognitive ties to a place; “2018 Best of KAC,” which will showcase pieces from talented students and faculty of the Kirkland Arts Center; “Clay? VII,” which will present the seventh installment of KAC’s biennial juried contemporary ceramics exhibition; a group exhibition titled “Apparitions,” which is curated by KAC Gallery Curator J. Gordon, that explores supernatural beings and creatures in both folklore and pop culture; and the popular Kirkland Holiday Market.
In addition, colorful steel sculptures by artist Ed McCarthy will be featured on Kirkland’s lively Park Lane avenue from August 2018 to August 2019. The 15th annual Kirkland Artist Studio Tour will als be held over Mother’s Day weekend, with pop, abstract, and futuristic works by KAC instructors displayed throughout 2018.
