Registration for the Pacific Science Center’s summer camp program, Camps for Curious Minds, opened to the public on Thursday, Feb. 8 and will remain open until Feb. 28.
The Pacific Science Center offers more than 80 camps for children grades PreK-8 at eight Puget Sound locations. Each camp offers hands-on science experiments, fun and challenging projects and unique learning experiences.
The center has added a number of new camp themes this year, along with new sensory-friendly camps for children on the autism spectrum. These camps feature reductions in loud sounds, auditory, visual and kinesthetic-tactile activities that maximize child’s ability to relax, learn and play.
Camps for Curious Minds are offered at the following locations for grades PreK through 8:
- Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center in Bellevue, June 25 through Aug. 31
- St. Thomas School in Medina, July 2 through Aug. 10
- Kirkland Seventh-day Adventist School in Kirkland, June 25 through July 6
- The Overlake School in Redmond, July 9 through Aug. 3
- UW Bothell in Bothell, Aug. 6 through Aug. 24
Pacific Science Center aims to provide access for all, and give everyone an opportunity to ignite their curiosity through science education, no matter their financial background. Scholarships are available to qualifying applicants and are awarded based on a lottery system.
Registration for the camps is open until they are full and applications for the scholarship program close on Feb. 28. Applications can be found here.
