Becker’s Hospital Review honors EvergreenHealth

Becker’s Hospital Review named EvergreenHealth on List of “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare”.

Becker’s Hospital Review has named EvergreenHealth as one of the country’s best places to work for the second consecutive year in its 2018 edition of “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare.”

EvergreenHealth is one of only three health systems in the Puget Sound region to make this year’s list, which highlights hospitals, health systems and health care companies that promote diversity, engagement and professional growth among employees.

“We are honored to be included once again in ‘150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare,’” said EvergreenHealth CEO Bob Malte in a press release. “As we focus on providing quality care to meet the needs of our ever-growing community, we do not lose sight of what allows us to deliver the best outcomes for our patients: the unwavering dedication of every one of our employees. We are always pleased to recognize the exceptional contributions of our providers, staff and volunteers, and we’re equally committed to fostering an exceptional work environment where all can thrive.”

The organizations included in the “150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare” list were selected for providing competitive benefits and employee recognition programs, offering opportunities for professional development and promoting leadership from within. In addition, many members of this list support volunteerism and organize community outreach activities.

EvergreenHealth is one of only four Washington state hospitals to earn the distinction this year, joined by Seattle Children’s Hospital, Confluence Health in Wenatchee and Providence St. Joseph Health in Renton. The accolade joins numerous other national achievements recognizing EvergreenHealth for quality care over the past year, including:

  • America’s 100 Best Hospitals 2018 from Healthgrades;
  • A Leapfrog “A” Hospital Safety Grade;
  • Healthgrades’ Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence for the ninth time in ten years;
  • A Truven Health AnalyticsTM Top 100 Hospital award for “Large Community Hospitals” two years in a row;
  • A 5-Star Overall Rating from the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS), one of only 337 in the country, and
  • Recognition as one of “100 Great Community Hospitals” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Becker’s Hospital Review, the leading source of business and legal information for the healthcare industry, determined this year’s list based on nominated organizations, noting previous recognitions, awards, employee benefits, culture and workplace excellence. The editorial team also considered diversity, employee satisfaction and retention when developing the list.
