Swimmers from Juanita and Lake Washington high schools competed in last weekend’s 3A/4A KingCo swim meet at Mary Wayte Pool on Mercer Island.
As a team, Lake Washington took 10th overall with 191 points, while Juanita finished 15th with 138 points. Mercer Island won with 711 points.
In the 200 medley relay race, Lake Washington finished 16th with the team of Malika Elkayssi, Ellie Krossa, Alexa LeMaster and Shay Sarda in 2:12.26.
In the diving competition, Tori Meier finished 11th with 258.40 for the Kangs, while Sarda was 13th with 255.50.
Jessica McKinney finished fifth in the 100 freestyle race in 56.45. Her teammate Clare Kucinski-Murphy was 10th overall in 57.86.
As a team, Lake Washington took fifth in the 200 freestyle relay, with Kucinski-Murphy, Laura Chopp, Brooke Bonnell and McKinney finishing in 1:46.28.
McKinney was 15th in the 100 backstroke race in 1:06.87. Chopp was 19th in the 100 breast stroke.
Lake Washington finished the 400 freestyle relay in 4:02.46 for 11th place overall. The team included McKinney, Chopp, Bonnell and Kucinski-Murphy.
In the 200 individual medley race, Juanita’s Miranda Sage was 23rd overall in 2:31.63. Teammate Hanna Armstrong qualified for the state meet by finished fourth in the 50 freestyle race with a time of 25.44.
Rebel Anna Michel finished 15th in the 500 freestyle race, posting a 5:45.19 time.
Michel, Dominique Yoder, Tess Farley and Armstrong frinished ninth in the 200 freestyle relay race with a time of 1:47.82.
Farley took seventh in the 100 backstroke race, finishing in 1:01.54, while MIchel was 13th in the race. Yoder finished the 100 breast stroke race in 1:21.49 to take 23rd place.
Swimmers who qualified will move forward to this weekend’s SeaKing district competition. The preliminary rounds begin on Friday, Nov. 4 at Mary Wayte Pool, with the finals held on Saturday, starting at 5:30 p.m.
