Police blotter for Jan. 4-5.

Jan. 4

Prowled work truck: At 9:21 a.m. in the 11200 block of Northeast 132nd Street, a subject reported their work vehicle, a Ford F-150, was prowled and front driver’s window was smashed. A bag of clothing, speakers and tools were stolen.

Surprise snake: At 10:44 a.m. in the 9400 block of Northeast 120th Street, a red tail boa constrictor, four to five feet in length, was discovered. The reptile was reported as very cold, covered in dirt and lethargic. It was placed in a carrier and brought back to the station for help. To increase the animal’s temperature it was bathed in warm water and placed in a carrier with a heating pad. The snake was in need of antibiotics and will receive medical treatment.

Fake pastor: At 10:38 a.m. in the 7500 block of 132nd Avenue Northeast, a caller reported that she had received an email with her pastor’s name in the from line. She was directed to purchase nine $100 gift cards using the church credit card and to email the card and activation information. After sending one of the cards, the subject realized the email was not from her pastor.

Jan. 5

Moving garage: At 1:29 a.m. in the 1300 block of 6th Street, a resident asked police to go by their home and verify that everything was ok. The garage door was going up and down repeatedly and no one was at the house. Caller believed there to be something in the way preventing the door from closing. The resident is overseas and could see the door opening and closing.
