The public will get an early look at plans to involve the community in developing the Eastside rail corridor at an informational open house at 7 p.m. July 9 at City Hall.
Hosted by the Port of Seattle, the open house is the first of two this month that will provide information on the purchase and sale agreement between the Port, King County and BNSF, the transaction timeline and plans for public involvement.
The 42-mile rail corridor runs from the north end of Renton to Snohomish and passes through Renton, Bellevue, Newcastle, Kirkland and Woodinville. Plans for rails, trails or both along the corridor have been discussed.
The second open house is from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, at the Kennydale Elementary School Cafeteria in Renton.
