Northwest University signs Issaquah basketball grad

Northwest University in Kirkland has signed Issaquah graduate Domi Mendezona to play basketball.

Mendezona, a point guard, signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the team.

“Domi is a true point guard who looks to get her teammates involved and is willing to do whatever it takes to make the team better,” said NU head coach Lori Napier in a press release. “She has excellent court vision and ball handling skills and comes from one of the best defensive high school basketball programs in the state. Her love of basketball and work ethic are outstanding and will help her transition seamlessly to the college game.”

Mendezona has family ties to the school. Her sister is a graduating senior playing for NU and her older brother plays for the men’s basketball team.

Mendezona was named a KingCo All-Conference honorable mention in 2009-2010 and averaged seven point and three assists per game.
