For years I have watched a pair of ospreys raise chicks in a nest on top of the cell tower across the street from the Kingsgate Safeway. A few days ago, I heard them chirping from trees surrounding the tower. When I looked up at the nest, it was gone. Since then they have been circling the tower (in my mind) perplexed occasionally landing on the tower.

Earlier this month, I noticed workmen on the tower doing some work. I can’t help but to think they destroyed the nest. My question is: why?
