The Lake Washington girls basketball team (1-2) pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 53-42 victory on the road over the Interlake Saints (0-4) on Dec. 11.

A strong second half from sophomores Elise Hani, Rosa Smith and senior Jen Estes helped lead the Kangs to their first win of the season.

With the game tied at 34 going into the third quarter, the Kangs went on a 15-5 run to separate themselves on the scoreboard and to secure a win in their first league game of the young season.

Elise Hani was unstoppable in the second half for Lake Washington, scoring 11 of her 14 points in the final two quarters. Smith also scored 14 points and Estes finished with eight points.

Lake Washington will look to bring the momentum into its next game against the Sammamish Totems (3-1) on Dec. 13.
