NAMI Eastside adds support groups for people impacted by mental illness

The Eastside affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Eastside) offers 11 free support groups meeting a total of 20 times each month.

The Eastside affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Eastside) offers 11 free support groups meeting a total of 20 times each month.

NAMI Eastside support groups provide support, knowledge, and understanding along with an opportunity for group members to share experiences, concerns, and interests in a confidential setting. Meetings are led by NAMI members who have personal experience with the topic. These are drop-in support groups; pre-registration is not required.

• NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group in Newport Hills meets from 6:30-8 p.m. the first and third Monday, Fire Station No. 9 meeting room, 12412 S.E. 69th Way, Newport Hills. Contact Joseph: 425-749-6611.

• NAMI Connections Consumer Recovery Group has moved to 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesdays, Together Center, 16315 N.E. 87th St., Building B, Baker/Adams conference room, Redmond (by Bella Botega Theatres). Brian Youngberg: 206-760-9215, brianyounberg@gmail.com.

• A second NAMI Family Support Group at Fairfax Hospital was added. Meetings will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. Join us at 10200 N.E. 132nd St., Kirkland.
