Kirkland Police are investigating a shooting late Wednesday night, Sept. 16, where one teenage boy was killed.

The investigation has closed Houghton Beach Park, where shooting took place, through Thursday. Police state there’s no imminent danger to the public, but both suspects are still at large. The suspects and victim are believed to have known each other.

Police state they responded to calls of a shooting at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at 5811 Lake Washington Boulevard, where they located the victim. He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Several people reported hearing gun shots and seeing two men running from the park. Police did not have a description at this time but state they have witnesses involved they believe will help identify the suspects.

As of Thursday morning, Houghton Beach Park remained closed for the investigation.
