It’s great fun to read the response to Jeff Jared’s May 6 guest column by Todd Boyle’s May 13 counterpoint. Like the Pharisees of old, the contemporary Liberal makes a religion of submission to authority, and forces it on everyone. However, one doesn’t have to be a Libertarian (most people may not be) to see that by taking away common charity, thrift, goodwill and the spirit of enterprise and the free will to act on them individually and replacing them with narrowly defined regulations, we’ll end up with a society that only a Pharisees could love (most people may not be Pharisees.)
