The downtown Kirkland Starbucks was packed with Seahawks fans eagerly waiting to have their photo taken with Seahawks placekicker Steve Hauschka Wednesday afternoon.

Hauschka acted as a “guest barista” as part of the “A Better Seattle” campaign that Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and several other Seahawks are promoting.

The week-long campaign with Starbucks is to raise funds to help develop young leaders in partnership with the Seahawks.

The Starbucks Foundation will make an initial grant of $50,000 to kick-off the campaign.

Fans and Starbucks customers can donate online at abetterseattle.com or at participating western Washington Starbucks today through Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Donations will fund the ongoing efforts of street outreach workers in six cities, including Seattle, Renton, Kent, Tukwila, Auburn and SeaTac.
