EvergreenHealth announced a new partnership this week with Seattle Sounders FC.

The three-year partnership will include a variety of activities, including EvergreenHealth being named presenting sponsor of the inaugural Rave Green Run at Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland on August 9. In addition to the run, the two organizations will join together to raise awareness about concussion-prevention with Safe Kids Eastside. The health system will also sponsor the “first-half checkup” halftime feature at Sounders FC home matches.

The Rave Green Run presented by EvergreenHealth features a nine-kilometer run, a five-kilometer run/walk and a one-kilometer dash for kids. Portions of race entries benefit the Washington Global Health Alliance, a Sounders FC community partner, whose mission is to raise community awareness and support creative solutions that address local and global health challenges.

Registration is $35 and participants receive a 2015 Rave Green Run tech shirt, a Sounders FC Rave Finisher medal – with runners in the 9k and 5k receiving a 3D medal for their passion and courage to take part in healthy activities. All participants are invited to a post-race viewing of Sounders FC’s Aug. 9 road match against the LA Galaxy at 1 p.m. on ESPN. The viewing party includes a beer garden, food trucks, live music and a family fun zone.
