Diane Fennema of Lake Washington High School and Carol Hinrichs of Kirkland Junior High were recognized by the Kirkland Rotary Club last week as Kirkland’s “Outstanding Educators of the Year.”

The pair, both nominated by their principals, were honored at the Rotary’s May 5 meeting at the Woodmark Hotel.

Both Fennema and Hinrichs are former classroom teachers now working as counselors for high school and junior high students, respectively.

The Rotary club of Kirkland has honored over 30 outstanding educators in the Kirkland community since 1989.
