I am a mother of a son with Cerebral Palsy and one of the founders of The Determined Parents Foundation. We are asking our community to help us support kids and adults living with disabilities by joining the charity event Steptember (www.steptembernw.org). For the month of September we are challenging teams of four to walk, run or roll 10,000 “steps” a day while raising funds and awareness for people living with disabilities. All proceeds go to Provail (www.provail.org) and The Determined Parents Foundation (www.thedeterminedparentsfoundation.org) to help people with special needs receive the therapies that they desperately need. Our hope is to engage our community to come together and get active while supporting those who can’t. We are ending Steptember with an “awareness climb” to the summit of Mt. Rainier that will be completed by myself and my co-founder of The Determined Parents Foundation.
