December 21, 1940 – August 27, 2023

Longtime educational leader Harold Horchover passed away peacefully at his California home on August 27, 2023 surrounded by his family. Harold came to the Lake Washington School District in 1969, served as principal of several elementary schools including planning and opening Normal Rockwell Elementary in Redmond.

Harold loved students and made it a point to learn their names and connect with them as he visited classrooms watching instruction and crouching down to talk with students about what they were learning. Harold went on to serve as the district’s assistant superintendent until his retirement. Always wanting to improve instructional delivery, he moved to Cerritos, California to serve as assistant superintendent of ABC Unifified School District. ThThe move also enabled Harold and wife Candy to live close to their daughter Holly, son Dan and wife, Lupita, grandchildren Delaney and Jake. Harold was 82.
