The Heathman Hotel raised nearly $8,000 to benefit the Puget Sound Susan G. Komen for breast cancer awareness.

The business created a pink room in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the month of October. Room proceeds exceeded the hotel’s $7,000 goal at $7,900.

Les Utley, general manager of the Heathman, and Brandi Hyder, director of rooms, presented Puget Sound Susan G. Komen officials a check on Thursday at the hotel.

The pink room was a success and we will do this every year from here on out,” said Utley.
