Members of the Tiger and Wolf Den for Pack 567 visited the Kirkland Reporter offices on Monday for a tour and to talk with newspaper editor Matt Phelps about the production process.

The boys contributed good questions and learned how the news is gathered, written and edited. They also learned how the paper is paginated and received a tour of the circulation facilities. The theme for the visit was “resourcefulness.”

The group is chartered by St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Finn Hill and serves both Carl Sandburg Elementary and the Discovery Community School.

Many of the boys who visited the Reporter are from the Finn Hill and Kingsgate neighborhoods in Kirkland. The trip helped two of the boys earn their Tiger rank, while the rest of them earn their Gold Arrow Point.

The Kirkland Reporter staff was pleased to have the boys visit.

The Pack is also looking for more boys who are interested in Scouting.
