The Juanita High School softball team defeated Sammamish, 8-2, on Monday in Kirkland.

The Rebels were led by pitchers Lisa Nelson and Madi Hedlund who combined to givve up two unearned runs and one hit, while striking out 10 batters.

Hedlund was 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and a triple.

The Rebels will face Interlake at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in Bellevue.
