Northwest University’s Jonathan Ferguson, has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

Ferguson, a senior from Pleasant Hill, Ore. (Pleasant Hill High School), met the NAIA automatic qualifying standard in the 1000m event and will make his third consecutive trip to the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Johnson City, Tenn., in March. He was the top NAIA finisher in a field comprised of a majority of NCAA Division I and II programs at Saturday’s University of Washington Indoor Preview Meet in Seattle, Wash. His time for the event was second to his NU record of 2:30.46, he set in 2013.
