Come enjoy local art and music every second Thursday of the month all summer long with the Merrill Gardens at Kirkland community. July 9 will feature a reception for Northwest artist Janice Warren, who painted the historic Juanita Beach Mural in Merrill Gardens’ stunning private dining room. Visitors are welcome to enjoy free live music, art, and light refreshments in the Merrill Gardens at Kirkland lobby, starting at 6 p.m. Merrill Gardens at Kirkland is located at 201 Kirkland Avenue, in the heart of downtown Kirkland.
Warren has been painting murals since 1987 when she combined her love for art with her work in the field of interior design. She has been commissioned to paint countless murals around the Northwest for restaurants, businesses and private residences. Warren has painted several murals at other local Merrill Gardens communities. For the dining room mural in Merrill Gardens at Kirkland, Warren used historic photographs borrowed from the Kirkland Heritage Society as inspiration. The mural captures the warm summer days spent on the shore of Lake Washington. Refreshments will be served and music will be provided by the popular “De’Lively” jazz combo.
