A giant 150-foot by 75-foot Seahawks’ logo was hand-painted on the ground last night at the site of Google’s Kirkland campus expansion.
At 12:15 p.m. Jan. 31, more than 50 construction workers in high-visibility vests and hard hats cheered from the logo, which they lined with heavy-duty construction equipment. This is the brainchild of the group of construction workers who are avid Seahawks fans; one of the workers hand-drew the logo, then used a grid to paint the giant version.
Google’s Kirkland Campus expansion broke ground in September, and will double the size of what is already the company’s third-largest engineering center in the country. SRM Development is currently working on the expanded site, which is estimated at over 180,000 square feet, and is slated for completion by the end of 2015.
