A 24-year-old Sinaloa Mexico resident was arrested for possessing a large amount of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine after a trooper observed him speeding on I-405 through Kirkland.
Gabriel Rodriguez-Banuelos was stopped for driving his 2007 Toyota Camry 73mph in a 60mph zone southbound I-405 just north of 128th St NE. Rodriguez-Banuelos was arrested for not having a driver’s license or any other form of valid identification. During a search of his person the trooper located a one-inch baggie of cocaine and $425 in cash (mostly $20 bills) in his front pant pocket.
The trooper’s drug K-9 searched the interior of the Camry where it alerted on the center console. In the center console was a plastic grocery bag containing 51 one-inch baggies of crystal methamphetamines, 11 one-inch baggies of cocaine, and a sandwich baggie full of cocaine. Several other empty one-inch baggies were also located in the grocery bag.
Rodriguez-Banuelos was booked into King County Jail for possession of cocaine and methamphetamine with the intent to deliver. The drugs, cash, and vehicle were all seized.
