The Windermere Foundation set a seven year record as Kirkland Interfaith Transitions in Housing’s largest single private donor this month with a grant of $50,000 to support KITH during its 25th anniversary year in 2014.

Windermere Foundation representative Pat Reimer presented a check for the entire grant at KITH’s office on State Street in Kirkland. The funds will support KITH’s 2014 life-changing housing and case management programs which help homeless families on the Eastside to move towards self-sufficiency.

“Windermere Foundation makes a huge difference in our community and we are deeply grateful for their support. The Windermere Foundation’s grant will help pay for the costs of operation and maintenance of KITH’s housing program,” said KITH Executive Director Jennifer Barron. “Funds also will provide case managers who work one to one with families as they set goals that will assist the family in gaining stability and independence.”

In addition to housing and case management for homeless families, KITH offers food support to homeless and low-income community members at its weekly volunteer-run Community Supper program. Windermere also gets involved as Holiday Adopt-a-Family donors.

Anyone who has purchased or sold a home through Windermere is a part of the Windermere Foundation. Each of Windermere’s offices raises funds through transaction donations, fundraising efforts, and personal contributions. The funds they raise go back to their communities, to benefit local nonprofit organizations and programs that support low-income and homeless families.
