The Lake Washington Kangs earned a 1-1 record last week, beating Samammish, before falling prey to the top KingCo team, Bellevue.
Last Tuesday, the Kangs hosted Sammamish, winning 59-56 over the Totems.
Lake Washington was down 32-26 going into the half, but rallied with an 18-point third quarter to take a one point lead going into the final minutes of the game. Despite attempts by the Totems to retake the game, Lake Washington held on for the win.
In one of his highest scoring games of the season captain Matt Staudacher had 23 points, while Kramer Taylor posted 20 for the Kangs. Teammate Guy Lynott added 11 points, followed by Robert Reyes’ four points and one from Cody Bernstein.
Last Friday, the Kangs traveled south to face Bellevue, the No. 1 team in the league. Bellevue picked up a decisive win with a 72-44 score.
Both Staudacher and Taylor had 14 points during the game, while Bernstein had seven points, Reyes earned five and Lynott had four.

Juanita boys fall to Mount Si, Mercer Island
The Juanita boys basketball team fell to both Mount Si and Mercer Island last week, dropping to 3-15 this season.
On Tuesday, Jan. 25 the Rebels lost to Mount Si in an away KingCo game 69-46.
Ty Eng had the team high of 13 points, while Taylor Williams put up seven for the Rebels, followed by six from Avery Britton and Ryan Reed, five from Brett Hamre, three from Kellen Gildersleeve and two from Sean Brennan, Devan Jackson and Nicola Stanjic.
The following Friday, Juanita hosted Mercer Island, losing 71-43.
The Islanders kicked things off with a 22-point first quarter, followed by at least 13 points in the every quarter of the game.
Jackson and Reed each scored 10 points for the Rebels during the game, with Brennan and Williams adding five each. Gildersleeve added four, Eng put up three, while Britton, Hamre and Kurfess each had two points.
