The Lake Washington High School baseball team received a big starting pitching performance from Connor Johnson, as the team defeated Bellevue, 5-0, on Monday in Kirkland.
Johnson finished with three strikeouts, while walking two batters and giving up just three hits during the complete-game victory.
The Kang offense gave Johnson a lead during the first inning and extended it to 2-0 during the bottom of the third. A three-run fifth was all Johnson needed to go the distance.
Lake Washington was led on offense by Tom Scheffler, who was 1-for-3 with two RBI, and Austin Lively and Jake Wikel, who both finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
The Kangs will take the momentum into a game at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, as they play Juanita at Lee Johnson Field in downtown Kirkland.
