I know the King County Jail System has seen some rough times recently – everything from sexual harassment, inmate safety issues and employees running a payroll scam. All happened under the “watchful” eye of Claudia Balducci. Those issues have been well documented in the news.

But now a local newspaper has reported that Claudia was billing taxpayers while she was skipping out of work to attend Sound Transit meetings. When asked why, her answer was, it was a “big, serious job.” If it was a big serious job, then she should have been present to manage and lead.

Instead, her Sound Transit pet project took precedence. We have seen how well that has worked out for us with the 405 tolls.

We need leadership that shows up and gets results. I’m voting for Jane Hague.
