The Kirkland Impact boys 16U soccer team recently won their district competition.
The team won the Washington State Youth Soccer Association’s Recreation Cup for District 2. It’s the second straight year the team has won the title.
Impact advanced to the state semi-finals after beating the District 4 champions from Bainbridge in a 5-1 game on Dec. 3. The state finals will take place this weekend on Sunday, Dec. 11 at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila. Last year the team finished as a runner up.
The team is based at Juanita High School and includes: Ryan Bartleson, Stephen Fleming, Conor Goodwin, Kellen Harlington, Sean Joergensen, Austin Knerr, Pao Lor, Christoph Mayr, Jonah Maki, Jason McLean, Sam Merritt, Sean Nelson, Justin O’Farrell, Jacob Reyes, Robert Snyder, Keegan Taggart and Nahom Zaid.
The team is coached by Phil Goodwin, Pat Bartleson and Steve Ellwood.
