Watkins represents, not misrepresents

I am thrilled at the prospect of Kirkland finally being represented in Congress. James Watkins lives and works just outside Kirkland, doing what most of us do on the job and in the neighborhood: managing budgets, starting and maintaining his and others’ small businesses, raising kids and volunteering. He will represent us in the other Washington, not special interests nor the federal government, and he will accurately represent federal bills to us. He has the common sense to know that government must live by the same laws of budgeting that we live by, just as the laws of gravity apply equally to government as to us. He knows what works in real life.

The current incumbent does not represent or advocate for us in his role in Congress, he advocates for the federal bureaucracy ruling over us, buying us off with pork that he charges to our bill, insisting that when we and his government are scrambling for the last dollar. His government should take it from us and maybe give back 35 cents (and none of the decision making) to people of his choosing. He misrepresents those bills to us, saying that health care had no mandates, that it and cap’n’trade wouldn’t cost the taxpayer anything. He even misrepresents that he was representing us, claiming to be taking a vote in Congress when he wasn’t. Be represented, not misrepresented. Vote for James Watkins.
