Summerfest Young Artists Exhibition 2014 winners

For the third consecutive year at Kirkland's Summerfest the Young Artists Exhibition drew crowds of all ages to see artwork entered by local young artists up to 18 years old.

For the third consecutive year at Kirkland’s Summerfest the Young Artists Exhibition drew crowds of all ages to see artwork entered by local young artists up to 18 years old. The exhibition was part of the Summerfest festival that drew over 40,000 visitors during Aug. 8-10. The exhibition displayed 86 unique pieces of art including paintings in oil and watercolor, mixed media, collage, photography and sculpture, inspired by the theme “Summertime Fun.” Several of this year’s artists were return participants. In addition to the amazing art on display, there were two art tables set up with materials to make fish wind socks.

All artists who entered received a participants ribbon and first prizes were awarded to one artist in each of the four age categories. In addition the organizing team selected 12 committee choice awards.

The artwork of these artists will be featured in the display case of the Kirkland Public Library Oct. 1-31. The display is open to the public.
