A four-block stretch of N.E. 80th Street will close for 30 days beginning May 13 as the city begins work on its Street Sewer and Water Main Replacement Project. The project area is from approximately 122nd Avenue N.E. to 126th Avenue N.E.
Construction workers will replace an aging sewer pipe and install two new water mains. Construction is expected to begin on May 12 with a 30-day road closure beginning May 13, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Construction activities, expected to be completed in late summer 2008, will require road closures and detour routes. Flaggers will be present to help direct traffic, access will be made available at all times for emergency service vehicles, and a city inspector will be on site, the city said.
