Juanita hosted cross town rivals Lake Washington on Wednesday evening, winning three matches out of four.
The teams fought through the first game, staying close together before Juanita took the win with a 25-21 score. The second game was even closer, with the team’s closing in on each other as they reached 25 points. Lake Washington earned the win with a 29-27 final score. Looking to close things out, Juanita won the third game 25-13 and the fourth game 25-16 to take the overall win.
Michels posted 26 kills and 33 digs during the games, along with three aces. Teammate Natasha Hatch had 10 kills, while Jade Finau added 35 assists and 27 digs.
This Monday, the Rebels took on Sammamish, earning three quick wins over the Totems. The Rebels hosted Mercer Island on Wednesday evening, after Reporter deadline.
On Monday, Sept. 26 Lake Washington played at Sammamish. The Kangs won in three games. The first and second games had score of 25-11, while game three finished with a 25-16 score.
Monday, Oct. 3 the Kangs hosted Mercer Island, losing in four games. The Islanders handily took game one with a 25-15 score, while Lake Washington surged in game two for a 25-19 loss, but used the momentum going into the third game, winning 25-21 to force a fourth. The final game finished with the Islanders earning 25 while Lake Washington had 18.
