After turning in a surprising, but welcome win over Garfield in week one, the Lake Washington football team couldn’t rally to overcome any early deficit against Redmond last week. The Kangs lost 28-7.
The Lake Washington volleyball team fell to Mercer Island in their first conference game of the season last Thursday. The Kangs, playing in the 3A KingCo league this year for the first time in several years, lost 3-0.
The Juanita girls soccer team split their opening week of competition against two non-league teams. Up first was the Rebels game against Inglemoor, which Juanita beat 2-0.
The fall boys tennis season officially got underway last week, with both the Rebels and the Kangs earning wins.
Advancing to a 2-0 season the Juanita Rebels beat Inglemoor in their first home game of the season Friday. The Rebels beat the Vikings in the non conference match 21-17.
Inglemoor struck first in the first quarter off a 20 yard field goal by Rick Gombatz. Juanita followed suite, but with a 5-yard touchdown run from Charles Benjamin to take the early 7-3 lead.
