A Bellevue couple escaped serious injury Sunday when an unsecured pickaxe was lost from the bed of a pick-up truck in Kirkland.
The couple was driving their Mercedes SUV on southbound I-405 in Kirkland at Northeast 85th street around 3:45 p.m. when a truck traveling northbound lost their unsecured load, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
A proposal by King County Executive Dow Constantine on Thursday could postpone or eliminate a need for a regional jail in the Kirkland.
