Allyis, Inc., a Kirkland-based technology consulting firm, announced the hiring of Noam Topaz, senior solutions architect.
Prior to joining Allyis, Topaz worked as an enterprise technology strategist at various organizations, including Microsoft Corp. in Redmond for more than 10 years. In this role at Microsoft he engaged with the leadership of enterprise customers and identified technology solutions to solve their company’s business challenges.
“As an expert in the integration of line of business systems with SharePoint, I’ve redesigned dozens of intranets and departmental portals and I look forward to offering customers innovative and cost effective solutions, particularly around SharePoint and Office 365,” said Topaz. “A key attribute that drew me to Allyis was its high commitment to customer satisfaction and the success of projects. I look forward to working with the Allyis team to create dynamic and effective solutions for clients.”
The former chief SharePoint evangelist at Microsoft, Topaz has more than 15 years of experience in enterprise software. Several technologies that Topaz first conceptualized became successful products at Microsoft.
Topaz co-authored the Interoperability between SAP NetWeaver Portal and Microsoft SharePoint Technologies Technical Reference Guide, which, since being published by Microsoft, has had more than one million downloads.

While at Microsoft, Topaz held several technical leadership positions in the Information Worker business unit and enterprise sales. He was Microsoft’s first collaboration technical evangelist and first portal technical evangelist. Topaz also conceptualized the digital dashboard technology that later became the user interface of Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server.
Topaz also developed the initial Information Bridge, which connects Microsoft Office with line of business servers, a technology that is now used in Microsoft/SAP® Duet. Topaz was a frequent presenter at Microsoft conferences and co-authored the Microsoft Press book, Developing Solutions with Outlook and Exchange.
Before joining Microsoft, Topaz was a project manager at Lotus Corporation where he led the early adoption of IBM Lotus Notes solutions at leading global financial institutions. As a senior consultant for an IBM business partner Noam pioneered the development of Enterprise knowledge management projects at several global enterprises.
Topaz graduated summa cum laude with a B.Sc. in computer engineering from Northeastern University.
