Eastside voters selected Brix Wine Cafe as the Best Overall for the 3rd Annual Taste of the Town event that was held at the Columbia Winery Sept. 25.
Brix, located at 9749 N.E. 119th Way, also took two other honors, including Best Appetizer and Best Presentation.
During the event, which was hosted by the Eastside Business Association, 12 restaurants that were most-recommended via an online nomination process, competed for the honor of being named Kirkland’s Taste of the Town.
Prizes were also awarded in other categories. This year’s Best Desert was awarded to the Purple Cafe Wine Bar, located at 323 Park Place and Best Main Course went to Shamiana, located at 10724 N.E. 68th St.
EBA Executive Director and President Mario Morales said this year marks the organization’s most successful year. The event, which will benefit the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Western Washington, raised more than $15,000.
“It’s remarkable that in the economy we have how much we raised for the children,” Morales said.
He added that every contestant was “absolutely phenomenal.”
