Evergreen Hospital Medical Center recently won three awards; two for dedication to improving the environment and one for a television advertisement.
The Diamond Award for Organizational Leadership from Commuter Challenge in King County was given for the hospital’s highly effective trip reduction program. Evergreen Hospital Medical Center encourages employees to join vanpools, take a bus, share a ride, bike or walk to work. Evergreen received the award at the 17th Annual Commuter Challenge Awards Ceremony in Seattle in May.
Evergreen received the Partner for Change designation from Practice Greenhealth, a national organization that promotes clean energy, energy efficiency and reducing pollution in the healthcare setting. The 2010 Environmental Excellence Awards were announced during last week’s CleanMed conference in Baltimore. The Change for Champion awards promote sustainable healthcare practices such as using less toxic products, recycling, purchasing organic foods and increasing energy efficiency. Evergreen is one of only two hospitals in Washington receiving a Partner for Change award.
Marketing Healthcare Today magazine gave a Bronze Aster Award for Evergreen’s recent television spot featuring medically astute auto mechanics.
