Ford Motor Company and Ford of Kirkland partnered to help raise money in support of Redmond High School as part of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program. Eastside community members put pedals to the metal and helped raise up to $3,180 for Redmond High School by test-driving a Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle. Ford of Kirkland worked with Redmond High School to host the one-day event on June 5. Approximately 159 people headed down to the school, and for each participant who came from a unique household, Ford and Ford of Kirkland will donate $20.
Since the start of the program in 2007, Ford’s Drive One 4 UR School program has raised more than $2.3 million for close to 700 high schools across the country and has enabled more than 125,000 people to test drive new Ford vehicles. The monies raised during the Drive One 4 UR School program have helped fund extracurricular activities like sports and band programs, helping to ensure that these programs continue in local communities.
In past Drive One 4 UR School events, Ford of Kirkland helped raise more than $5,600 for Juanita and Bothell high schools and is looking forward to further supporting the KingCo conference.
“We’re a big supporter of our outstanding local schools, so it was great to see the public enjoying our Ford vehicles while contributing to a worthy cause,” said Amy Walen, Chief Financial Officer at Ford of Kirkland.
