Sporting four separate business cards, Lauren Dillon-Merrill is something of a Jill-of-all-trades.

The 30-year-old Kirkland resident recently opened a multi-business location in Bothell’s Logsdon Building, right above The Neverending Bookshop, offering digital arts and design services, photography, clothing design and an esoteric healing practice.

“Some people come in for one thing, and end up wanting to do more,” she said.

While she graduated from Full Sail University in Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in digital arts and design, Dillon-Merrill’s attention has been captivated by esoteric healing more than seven years after she started taking classes from a mentor while living in North Carolina.

After practicing on the East Coast, she and her husband, a sound engineer, moved to the Seattle area, and open 3 Petals Healing.

“I’m trying to bring it out, and build a community out here,” she said.

Esoteric healing, Dillon-Merrill said, involves the manipulation of human energies to improve mental and physical health. She was recently certified through the National Association for Esoteric Healing.

Central to this practice is a room full of crystals, and a bed on which the client lies above a large arrangement of multi-colored crystals with a device Dillon-Merrill said can adjust their frequency to affect the human body.

“It’s nice to be able to cleanse and detox, and have a little bit of that self-care,” she said.

In the front of her business sits computers and a play area for her one-year-old son, Sebastian. Here, she changes hats and becomes a creative artist.

“I think my specialty for the digital arts is branding,” Dillon-Merrill said.

She has worked with  Bodhi Courses, a non-profit organization based in California which teaches Buddhist meditation courses online, creating their visual design. Closer to home, she enjoys working with small, local businesses to develop a visual identity for them under her namesake business.

Her photography business is called Metamorphic Images, and clothing design company Eisa Clothing.

She said keeping herself busy is nothing new; she and her husband even started college three months after they were married.

“We like to kind of go big, or go home,” she said.

Getting to know the community is one of her top priorities, she said.

“I’m trying to get the word out there,” she said. “My goal for the new year was to really work hard at being a part of the community.”

3 Petals Healing will be offering esoteric training classes soon. Previous classes were offered in October. Updates will be posted on their website.

Her business is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. An open house is scheduled for Feb. 20 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
