Opus Bank in Kirkland celebrates ribbon-cutting ceremony

Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride and Bruce Wynn, executive director of the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce, officiated a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the bank on Wednesday evening.

The Kirkland bank is the first of three new locations that the company expects to open this year in the Seattle metropolitan area as Opus Bank continues to expand its footprint in western Washington, said Stephen H. Gordon, founding chairman, chief executive officer and president of Opus Bank, in a press release.

Opus Bank, headquartered in Irvine, Calif., is an FDIC insured California-chartered commercial bank with $2.4 billion of total assets, $1.6 billion of total loans, and $1.8 billion in total deposits, as of Dec. 31, 2011.
