I am reading the Dec. 30, 2009 issue of the Kirkland Reporter and I find a photo that answers a question I’ve had for years. Who are the people on the I-405 pedestrian bridge near Costco with the anti-war signs? I’m 100 percent behind freedom of speech but these two people slow down the commute every week! Their message is their opinion but do they have to do it at the expense of traffic flow? We have enough businesses leaving here because of bad traffic, we don’t need any help chasing more away.
I thought when anti-war candidate Obama was elected that this weekly slowdown would end. Apparently, I was wrong once again in my life. Their message just changed from “US Out of Iraq” to “US Out of Afghanistan.” My hope is that they take their message to the federal building in Seattle and wave their sign every week. It would help the “Kirkland crawl” flow a little better.
