City of Kirkland keeps trying to push up taxes – try charging for parking

While I enjoy looking at the paper to keep up with the news I just cannot understand the city council. They keep trying to push up the taxes, why don't they start charging for parking downtown. There are certainly enough cars that park down there that they could make some of the money that they are short.

While I enjoy looking at the paper to keep up with the news I just cannot understand the city council. They keep trying to push up the taxes, why don’t they start charging for parking downtown. There are certainly enough cars that park down there that they could make some of the money that they are short. And they need to stop buying everything that comes along. Bellevue has their Police Department downtown and they have satellite offices in other parts of town. I have lived here for over 30 years and I have seen lots of frivolous spending. I can’t understand other cities have put in parking meters, why is it so hard for this city council to see the writing on the wall. You can’t tax yourself out of debt; you need to curb your spending. They assured with annexation that with the money from that we would not have to worry about taxes going up. And now it’s all different. We need money for this and money for some other thing. They are taxing the senior population out of the city. And besides that, the city doesn’t have anything that is drawable as far as attraction to the city. All they have is food places and that leads to obesity. Our employers are rewarding us with food and now the city only thinks about food. Get some activities in Kirkland.
