I am disheartened that someone would write a letter that makes such broad assumptions, painting the microbrew industry and clientele as degenerate menaces to society.
Perhaps, instead, the proprietors of AMC Kickboxing should put their stereotypical views aside and be excited that another small business is getting its start in Kirkland.
Maybe Hume could see the brewery as a draw for her business, as it can offer something for parents to do while their children are attending her kickboxing school.
Instead, she has drawn together a thinly supported argument against Chainline Brewing, that smacks of NIMBYism and leads me to believe there is an ulterior motive.
For the record, I am an Everest neighborhood father of an elementary school age child who is very excited for a local microbrewery to open within walking distance, and I implore the rest of the neighborhood to support Chainline in their development.
