The litter along I-405 is horrible.

What a disgrace to our state and our community. In speaking with the Washington Department of Transportation, I learned that funding for litter cleanup was cut several years ago and they rely solely on volunteers (Earth Corps and Adopt-a-Highway volunteers).

Obviously, this is not working well. I will bring this issue to the attention of the transportation department as well as our legislators. In the meantime I will consider volunteering for Adopt-A-Highway. If you too find this to be an embarrassment and an impact on our environment, please consider taking action as well.
