Bob Sternoff’s supporters have done a great job extolling the virtues of Sternoff, everything from kissing babies to picking up litter.
And although we all would like to have virtuous elected officials, we also want ethical public officials.
Do we want to elect someone to the Kirkland City Council who sent out sexually explicit emails to his girlfriend during public meetings?
Do we want to elect Mr. Sternoff who texted belittling messages about fellow council members and the public during public meetings?
Do want to reelect a councilman who filed a lawsuit against the city that he represents, and has a girl friend that also file a lawsuit against the City of Kirkland for $750,000? Is this really what we want?
Are our tax dollars really well spent investigating our own public officials? Candidate Toby Nixon defended Sternoff saying that he didn’t violate any laws, but he violated good judgement and respectable ethics.
He does not deserve reelection.
